Terms of Service
Effective date: April 19, 2026
1. Acceptance of Terms
By creating an account or using LivingLedger, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you don't agree with any part of them, please don't use the service.
You must be at least 13 years old to use LivingLedger. If you're under the age of majority in your country, you should review these terms with a parent or guardian.
2. Description of Service
LivingLedger is a progressive web app (PWA) that helps you keep track of the things you own. You can add items manually or use our AI-powered scanner to identify items from photos.
The service runs in modern browsers on iOS, Android, and desktop, and can be installed to your home screen like a native app. LivingLedger is operated by an individual, not a corporation.
3. Accounts
You're responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for any activity that happens under your account. Please use a strong password and let us know right away if you suspect unauthorized access.
One account per person, please. The information you give us when signing up should be accurate and kept up to date.
4. Free and Pro Plans
The Free plan includes unlimited inventory items and 50 lifetime AI scanning credits — meaning the 50 scans don't reset each month. Pro plans unlock unlimited AI scanning and are billed monthly ($3/month) or yearly ($30/year) through Stripe, Inc.
We may change pricing in the future. If we do, existing subscribers will get at least 30 days' notice before the change applies to them.
Paid plans are intended for personal household use. We may contact users whose usage appears commercial, unusually high-volume, abusive, or inconsistent with normal household use, and may require a different plan.
5. Payments and Cancellation
Pro subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period until you cancel. You can cancel anytime from your account, and you'll keep Pro access until the end of the period you've already paid for.
We don't issue refunds for partial billing periods, except where required by law. All billing, subscriptions, and refunds are handled via Stripe, Inc. Payments are processed securely through Stripe, Inc. LivingLedger never sees or stores your full payment card details.
6. Your Data
Your inventory data belongs to you. We don't sell it, share it with advertisers, or use it to train AI models. You can request deletion of your account and data at any time by emailing support@livingledger.net.
We use Firebase (a Google service) to store your data securely and to handle authentication. For more on how we handle data, see our Privacy Policy.
7. AI Scanning
The AI scanner is powered by the Google Gemini API. It's a helpful tool, but it isn't perfect — results are suggestions, not guarantees, and may be incomplete or incorrect. Always review what the AI identifies before saving it to your inventory.
When you scan a photo, that photo is sent to Google's API for processing. LivingLedger doesn't store your scanned photos on our servers beyond what's needed to return the result.
8. Acceptable Use
Please don't use LivingLedger for anything illegal, and don't try to reverse-engineer, scrape, overload, or otherwise abuse the service. Don't share your account or resell access to it.
We may suspend or close accounts that violate these rules.
We may limit or restrict access to certain features (including AI scanning) if we detect excessive, automated, commercial, or abusive usage.
9. Account Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to LivingLedger at any time if you violate these Terms or use the service in a way that could cause harm.
You can stop using the service at any time and delete your account from within the app.
10. Availability and Changes
We work hard to keep LivingLedger available and reliable, but we can't promise 100% uptime. We may also add, change, or discontinue features over time. When we make significant changes, we'll do our best to give reasonable notice.
We may update these terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll notify you. Continuing to use the service after an update means you accept the revised terms.
11. Limitation of Liability
LivingLedger is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without warranties of any kind. We aren't liable for lost data, indirect damages, or consequential losses arising from your use of the service.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you've paid us in the three months before the claim arose.
12. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Tennessee, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Where permitted by law, any disputes will be resolved through binding arbitration rather than in court.
Nothing in these terms limits any consumer rights you have that can't be waived under your local law.
13. Contact
We'd genuinely rather hear from you than have you stew. If anything in these terms is unclear, or you have a question, concern, or complaint, please get in touch.
